The 50 mile and 50k fields start together at 6:30 AM against cutoffs of 15 and a half and 11 hours; the 25k and 5 mile go at 9:00 AM with 5.5 hours and 1.5 hours. The park’s stair sections and canyon descents make the shorter distances a genuine test rather than a warm-up, and the late-season date gives the fifty milers cold weather and a night finish.
