Ragnar is a U.S. relay-race company that has been putting on overnight, team-based endurance races for about 20 years. In its Trail series a team stays at a single basecamp — Ragnar Village — and runners rotate one at a time through three looped courses of different length and difficulty, running through the day and night and sleeping in tents between legs.
Ragnar Trail South Cascades runs Friday 25 June to Saturday 26 June 2027 at Willamette Pass Resort, 27501 OR-58, Crescent Lake, Oregon. The three loops total 117.6 miles across a full team rotation, about 14.7 miles per runner on an 8-person team, over smooth singletrack, forested cross-country ski trails and rugged climbs, with roughly 29,736 feet of total elevation gain — the most climbing of any course in the series.
Three team formats are offered: Standard (8 runners, $1,495 per team, about $186 a runner), Ultra (4 runners, $900, about $225 a runner) and Sprint (3 runners, one day, $375, about $125 a runner).
