Savage Race is a United States obstacle course race series founded and run by Sam Abbitt and Lloyd Parker. Its main event is a 5 to 7 mile course with more than 25 obstacles, RFID chip-timed and run in assigned start-time windows rather than a single mass start. A shorter format, Savage BLITZ, covers 3-plus miles with 15 to 20 obstacles, and a Savage Syndicate Pass lets entrants run both on the same day. The competitive wave, SavagePRO, starts first at 8:00 a.m. and requires 100% obstacle completion to be scored. Savage Race also runs a Rucking Division sponsored by GORUCK, which starts at 8:30 a.m., and SavageJR, a children’s race at 11:00 a.m. for ages 12 and under over either a one-third-mile or one-mile course. The minimum age for the adult formats is 13 on race day. In January 2026 the series cut ten of its thirteen planned 2026 events, proceeding with a three-race schedule; the company stated it is not shutting down and that further races may be added.
