Ragnar is a U.S. relay-race company that has been putting on overnight, team-based endurance races for about 20 years. Its Road series sends a team point-to-point over roughly 200 miles, with runners taking turns on the course day and night while the rest of the team leapfrogs ahead in vans.
Ragnar Road SoCal runs Friday 9 April to Saturday 10 April 2027, starting at Silver Strand State Beach in Coronado and finishing on the sand at Huntington Beach. The 196-mile course follows the Southern California coast through La Jolla, Encinitas and Cardiff-by-the-Sea, with moderate climbing and an overnight section.
Three team formats are offered: Standard (12 runners, $1,950 per team, about $162 a runner), Ultra (6 runners, $1,250, about $208 a runner) and Sprint (5 runners, $540, about $108 a runner).
