Ragnar is a U.S. relay-race company that has been putting on overnight, team-based endurance races for about 20 years. In its Trail series a team stays at a single basecamp — Ragnar Village — and runners rotate one at a time through three looped courses of different length and difficulty, running through the day and night and sleeping in tents between legs.
Ragnar Trail Michigan runs Friday 18 June to Saturday 19 June 2027 at the Hanson Hills Recreation Area, 7601 Old Lake Road, Grayling, Michigan. It is the longest course in the Trail series: the three loops total 134.4 miles across a full team rotation, about 16.8 miles per runner on an 8-person team, on smooth singletrack through forested bluffs with roughly 17,216 feet of total climbing.
Three team formats are offered: Standard (8 runners, $1,495 per team, about $186 a runner), Ultra (4 runners, $900, about $225 a runner) and Sprint (3 runners, one day, $375, about $125 a runner).
