In its Trail series a team stays at a single basecamp — Ragnar Village — and runners rotate one at a time through three looped courses of different length and difficulty, running through the day and night and sleeping in tents between legs.
Ragnar Trail Richmond runs Friday 23 April to Saturday 24 April 2027 at Pocahontas State Park, 10301 State Park Road, Chesterfield, Virginia. The three loops total 120 miles across a full team rotation, about 15 miles per runner on an 8-person team, on twisting smooth singletrack with lakeside sections and only about 753 feet of climbing per loop.
Three team formats are offered: Standard (8 runners, $1,495 per team, about $186 a runner), Ultra (4 runners, $900, about $225 a runner) and Sprint (3 runners, one day, $375, about $125 a runner).
