… MoreA backyard ultra is a last-person-standing race: every competitor starts a 4.167-mile loop, called a yard, at the top of each hour and must finish it inside that hour to stay in, until one runner completes a yard nobody else completes. This is an official affiliate race organised independently by Dan Cook of Let’s Feel Great Sports rather than by the championship organisation, and it supports the Luvin Arms animal sanctuary that hosts it.
It starts at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday 24 October 2026 at Luvin Arms Animal Sanctuary in Erie, Colorado, between Boulder and Denver. Entry was $90 early, or $98.12 including fees, and rose to $125, or $136.62, after 14 September. Registration is through UltraSignup and closes on 21 October. The field is capped at 300, one of the largest on the affiliate calendar. No age minimum, crew or pacer policy is published for this race, though the format’s global rules apply.
Less Every event worth a weekend, in one email. Rucking, hybrid fitness, obstacle and endurance, wherever in the country they are.
